This neighbourhood is characterised by its luxury buildings and the calmness of its streets. It is the residential area « par excellence », it also has several museums and embassies.

The famous Place du Trocadéro, made even prettier through its several ponds and fountains, got its name from the Trocadéro Palace, which used to stand in the place of the Chaillot Palace. The latter was built for the World Fair in 1937 and houses several museums amongst which are the Museum of Mankind, of Film, of the Sea as well as the film library.

"The Trocadéro" is the ideal depature point for visits to the Eiffel Tower. From the top of the square one has an uninterrupted view of the Eiffel Tower and, by descending the steps of the Palais Chaillot, one quickly arrives at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower.
